Democratic “Heavy Lifting”

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

I’ve heard a lot of talk about “heavy lifting” coming from the democratic camp.  Undoubtedly this is the mantra used to support Barrack Obama’s approach toward governing.

When one considers how political talking points are carefully choreographed it seems odd that the current president’s continued use of the term “heavy lifting” sends an unintended message. When I think about the left’s bent toward wealth redistribution along with the creation of an ever increasing class of government dependent citizens it reminds me of a pick pocket.  We are continually told how “hard decisions” must be made.  The decisions I see coming  from the current regime in Washington to take from those who work and give to those who do not is anything  but difficult.

Instead of helping create jobs for the unemployed the current administration is busily destroying the American dream for future generations.  They use deceptive  metaphors in an attempt to make their idea of government control more palatable for the masses.  Fortunately the majority of American citizens are not as ignorant as many in government believe them to be.   Americans have spoken overwhelmingly against the government takeover of healthcare yet their government ignores their concerns.

Borrowing from and painting a very different picture than the original idea used to describe the need to clean ones house I have coined a new metaphor.  You’ve heard the term “spring cleaning” how about a “fall flushing.”  As you can see, the picture I intend to paint in your mind is very clear.   If our representatives in government cannot find the courage to follow the rule of law then we must discard them. Just imagine as you go into the voting booth in Novemebr that the button you push is the handle on a toilet.

Playing on the Ignorance of the Uninformed

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

How do we get America, yea, the world, to see that many who hold power are not interested in what is best for the average citizen? Rather they are more concerned with retaining or obtaining power by any means.

When we look at America’s current financial crisis, while considering the loose money policy started under the Clinton administration, it’s pathetic. Here once again we had self-serving elected officials so bent on retaining power that they jettisoned established guidelines which governed the lending institutions of America for decades. Now here we are some 10+ years later and the consequences of their short-sighted policy making is upon us.

It’s ironic to me that people express disgust with their elected officials yet they seem to fall prey to the same old lies. Although I too am disgusted I do not intend to give up the fight for a better future for those who will come behind you and me. I am encouraged by the sounds of a great awakening one in which the thunderous footsteps of the giant marching are already reverberating across this great land.

The Burden of Liberty

Liberty

Well, America, are you paying attention as the socialists, communists, liberals, progressives (and virtually every other enemy of our Nation) as they attempt to fast-track their agenda through congress before anyone gets to read the fine print.  I wonder what kind of choices we will have when the dust settles.  I’m sure before it’s all over it will be something similar to what the Jews were given when Hitler started his national health care plan.

Have you ever wondered why men are so quick to give up their freedom?  I guess the price of liberty is just too high for most.  The burden has been too heavy for far too long here in America.  When I think back on what the founders of our great nation had to endure as they fought to become free I am perplexed.  Where are all the warriors who are willing to go to battle to win back our liberty?  My friends we are already enslaved; the masters are just now beginning to pull in the rope.

It is time to call men and women from across this great land to battle.  Let’s get out of our comfort zones and challenge the status quo.  Every office holder in this land who ignores their oath of office by trampling on the United States Constitution must be defeated and removed from office.  This, my friends, would usher in a truly new era where once again the citizens of this great land would be free to pursue life and liberty.
