Playing on the Ignorance of the Uninformed

How do we get America, yea, the world, to see that many who hold power are not interested in what is best for the average citizen? Rather they are more concerned with retaining or obtaining power by any means.

When we look at America’s current financial crisis, while considering the loose money policy started under the Clinton administration, it’s pathetic. Here once again we had self-serving elected officials so bent on retaining power that they jettisoned established guidelines which governed the lending institutions of America for decades. Now here we are some 10+ years later and the consequences of their short-sighted policy making is upon us.

It’s ironic to me that people express disgust with their elected officials yet they seem to fall prey to the same old lies. Although I too am disgusted I do not intend to give up the fight for a better future for those who will come behind you and me. I am encouraged by the sounds of a great awakening one in which the thunderous footsteps of the giant marching are already reverberating across this great land.

What’s Really Behind the ‘Healthscare’ Debate?

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

It’s past time for America to stop and take a deep breath, a few steps back, and think. As we listen to the politicians decry, “The sky is falling! The sky is falling!” (with regard to our current healthcare situation) we should ask ourselves, “Is this the true reality?” When we speak with our neighbors and friends do we see millions dying needlessly for lack of healthcare? Although the current systems which serve us are in need of some adjustment those adjustments do not warrant such massive government intrusion.

We need to be very careful, as we pause to review the true realities, to reflect upon the fact that every existing government run program is costly, inefficient, and inundated with fraud. This being the case why would so many (politicians) be so quick to attempt to orchestrate a government takeover in an area where failure would be life threatening to so many?

Just think with me for a moment about the fact that when the current bill was drafted–even before it had been read by most of our representatives–we were told, “It must be passed quickly!” Those among us who were and are asking for adequate time to review not only the bill, but the true reality of what the needs are, were vilified in a blatant attempt to silence the voice of reason.

My concern is that what is really going on here is an attempt to create yet another massive block of government-dependent citizens who will be subjected to the manipulation of this political football. Much like social security, Medicaid, and Medicare, which are routinely politicized during the course of each and every election cycle, to strike fear into the hearts and minds of those voters who are dependent upon these programs. So what is truly behind the ‘national healthscare initiative?’ I submit to you that the rush to implement this program has nothing to do with a genuine care for the people of this nation.

The vision of the Great American Experiment was not, and is not, a people dependent upon government. Instead, it’s about an independent people free to choose their direction in life. We the people must understand that, if we are to remain free, we must recognize that government control and independence are diametrically opposed to one another.
